If someone were to take the course they would learn how to design in a professional manner. They would learn game mechanics and production of games. Although I believe that it would be an interesting and fun career, I do not think it would be something for me. I am more into math/sciences. I plan to go into sports statistics.

DeleteI agree as well. Designing a game is something someone might enjoy doing, but like you said about careers, I thought it would be fun, until I did it. I didn't seem to "interested" with making a cover.

DeleteThis school has a great approach at learning game design, with hands on experience. I think that is the best way to lear how things work. If you went through this program you would learn how games are designed and processed, which is very neat. I don't think game design would be the right career choice for me, but it is for some people and this is a great way to learn

DeleteI really like the way this school goes about when learning game design. I think that this is probably the best way to learn how to do something. If I went through this program I think I would learn how games are created and even processed. I believe that this is probably one of the coolest things to learn about. I wouldn't necessarily enjoy doing game design, even though it looks fun, but I can see why some people like it.

DeleteIn this program you learn basic necessities about video game design. From design the game, to inputing it into a game developer such as unity. Later you can test it out to see if the game meets your standards. You also learn how to improve your presentation skills. Mostly when introducing your new game.
ReplyDeleteKonnichiwa Hong, I'd also like to add that when introducing your new game you are building better presentation skills while testing it out later to see if the game meets your standards. From designing the game to inputing it into a game developer like unity for example. You can learn the basic essentials about designing a video game using this program.
DeleteThere are many things in graphic design people do, and of course one is a video game design cover. The reason behind this is because of the "new era" being videogames, yet also it's so we find our true skills. A cover for a game is basically like "a picture telling a thousand words", but instead it's a game cover telling "a thousand words". It was an exciting project, yet I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. And also, playing games can help with ideas for a game, or just your brain imagining images on what you feel like doing for a game; it's basically just like something you like to do; including making covers for a game.
ReplyDeleteGoing through this program you'd learn some theoretical concepts in game design and gain some practical experience making single and multiplayer games. it sure is a career choice people can make.

ReplyDeleteI think being a game designer for your career would be an excellent choice. I imagine that you would have to be good at a lot of subjects in school though. You'd have to be good at math and maybe calculus. You obviously have to be good at art and be very creative with your work. Graphic design would be great practice to be a game designer.
ReplyDeleteI fully intend to follow this career path and I have for some time already. This may not be where I intend to go, but I can definitely see the appeal. I love the creative process behind video game design, but I always suffer from having to many ideas and not enough ability or experience to execute my ideas.
ReplyDeleteI think this career is a great choice for you. The ability will come with time especially in the college environment with instruction from people who actually do it for a living.
DeleteI think people who take this course would how to effectively create their own video game as well as create art and the story. It seems like a fun course to go through, however I don't think that I will try to make a career out of it.
